Funding

Understand who funds what, depending on your situation.

Retraining or upskilling has a cost — but rarely one you bear alone. Depending on your status, several schemes step in and, most often, stack together. This guide lays out the funding you can tap, status by status, with the rules in force as of mid-2026.

How much will I pay?

No funding is automatic. Most schemes stack — it's the combination that makes the difference.

You are a jobseeker

Out-of-pocket cost: often €0

CPF + AIF

Your CPF rights fund the training; if needed, France Travail's AIF (Individual Training Aid) covers the rest. As a jobseeker, you are exempt from the flat-rate 150 € contribution.

POEI

The Individual Operational Preparation for Employment funds training tied to a company that commits to hiring — up to 450 hours (600 h for priority groups).

POEC

The collective version of the POE, run by an industry branch to prepare several candidates for hard-to-fill roles.

Your income during training

Your allowance (ARE) may be maintained; without benefits, the RFF or RFFT takes over, up to 775 € per month depending on your situation.

You are an employee

Salary may be maintained

Professional Transition Project (PTP)

The PTP funds a certifying course to change careers while keeping your contract. It requires roughly 24 months of salaried activity, including 12 months with your employer. Pay is maintained between 60 % and 100 % of your salary, depending on its level.

Employer / OPCO top-up

Your employer or its OPCO can top up your CPF or co-fund the course as part of the skills development plan.

Reconversion period

Since 1er février 2026, the reconversion period replaces the Pro-A scheme: it lets you train for a new occupation via work-study while staying employed.

What to know before filing a PTP

A Professional Development Advisory session (CEP), free of charge, is a mandatory prerequisite: without it, the application is rejected. The scheme is selective — roughly one in two applications receives a favourable opinion. Hence the importance of solid support to build it.

Self-employed or public-sector

Self-employed workers: your FAF (training insurance fund) covers all or part of the course, on top of the CPF. Public-sector staff: the CFP (Professional Training Leave) grants partial pay in the first year.

Living with a disability

AGEFIPH support stacks with mainstream schemes. RQTH status waives the flat-rate CPF contribution and unlocks a raised rights ceiling. Steps are handled with Cap Emploi, and a KLE disability advisor supports you throughout.

What changed in 2026

Flat-rate CPF contribution

Since 2 avril 2026, a flat-rate contribution of 150 € applies when using the CPF. Jobseekers, RQTH holders and employees with an employer top-up are exempt.

RNCP courses: no ceiling

Since 26 février 2026, a cap on funding applies — but certifying courses listed in the RNCP are excluded. For the Specific Directory, funding remains capped (around 1500 €).

Reconversion period

On 1er février 2026, the reconversion period replaces the Pro-A scheme, to retrain while staying employed.

Our support

As a Qualiopi-certified provider, we build the application with you: a quote tailored to your situation, coordination with your advisor and OPCO, and lead-time planning. Expect a few days for a CPF, 2 to 4 months for a PTP.
